Welcome to your emergency medicine elective with Advocate Christ Medical Center's Department of Emergency Medicine. We hope that you will find your experience both exciting and educational. Emergency medicine is a challenging field that utilizes every aspect of medicine. Our goal is to immerse you in our treatment room, that you may gain insight into, and reinforce your commitment to, this demanding area of medicine.
The Department of Emergency Medicine at Advocate Christ Hospital is the busiest trauma center in Illinois. We are the second busiest emergency department in the stated and the 5th biggest by size.

For the past 3 years, the residents in the program scored first in the country on the annual in-service exam. We also have had a 100% pass rate on the emergency medicine boards for the past 4 years.
Orientation is held on the first Monday of your rotation. We will meet in the Department of Emergency Medicine Office at 9:30 am. If that Monday is a holiday the orientation will be moved to the next day at the discretion of the Coordinator.
